The Father Time weathervane is part of the iconic fabric at Lord's Ground and a specially made-to-order replica version is now available for purchase.
The weathervane and supporting structures are constructed using laser-cut, mild steel profiles welded to a central stainless steel tube. They are the primed and powder-coated. The arrow, scythe and ball of the vane are hand-finished with gold leaf. The N-S-E-W 'directionals' are again laser-cut in mild steel with hand-formed scrolls which are then welded to the central rod, primed and powder-coated.
There is a choice of two fixing kits at an additional charge: a gable bracket and a roof mounting kit. A post top bracket is supplied at no additional charge.
The gable bracket is for fitting on the side of a building and projects out 100mm to allow for the weathervane to go past any overhanging fascias/roof tiles.
The roof mounting bracket is for installing the weathervane into the apex of a roof. The threaded pipe goes down into the roof and is secured with nuts and washers to cross timbers. The brass Todd piece screws to the threaded pipe on the outside sitting on the ridge of the roof and the weathervane rod goes into the Todd piece.
The post top bracket is 65mm square with a hole in each corner at 45mm centres. This is suitable for flat surface mounting on a fence post or flat roof for example.
